Latest Project

Happy New Year to all. I have started off the year with a website for a client with a bed and breakfast - http://www.adstestwebsite.co.uk  Based on a commecial template, it features contact forms, a photo gallery and has third quite a few third party scripts embedded - a booking script, adwords etc. It has google maps integration and downloadable directions....

Keep the offers coming and I hope to finish at least one a week!!!

Can you afford not to?

Watching television, reading a newspaper, reading news articles on the internet - they all send the same message - the economies across Europe are all in trouble.  I see things getting worse for at least the next year or so, especially for the small businesses and low earners.

I (in the same boat as everybody else) have lowered all of my prices and fees in order to take on more work and will now negotiate with anyone wanting a website, for a great deal for all concerned. There are many businesses who already have a website (some are very dated), but now is the time to change. For a very small outlay, you can have a new website which may give you the edge over the competition who will not invest in the future or do not feel they can afford to bring their advertising campaigns up to date.

Most of my websites are sub £100 pounds - ask for a competitive quote - you cannot afford not to!!

ETSY

I have decided to offer my services on ETSY (an american site ,similar to Ebay) as there seems  to be quite a weak market at the moment. Over the last week I have ahad only 10 enquiries and none have led to web design work, which Iis what I am looking at.  Seems strange that at a time when people need to sell their products/services more than ever, no one wants to spend 70 pounds on a website - they would rather do a mailshot!!!!

I have one website in the pipeline, which is amazing considering - am I marketing my business incorrectly?

Anyone who looks at my work, I would welcome your feedback (without bad language please)

Blogging Capability

OK, you have read some of my blog entries, probably thinking this guy is an idiot (my wife does), he just rambles on.  This is correct, I do,  the main purpose is just to put some content on the page which, someone may (or may not) find interesting. I can add the blogging feature to all web sites and it is a great way of adding content - it is incredibly easy. You can add photographs, make it your own personal diary or write a book!!

The Crisis - Changing the way I work

It is a fact of life that the politicians "rule" or should it be "Ruin" the world... I have lived in a few different countries, and I am of the opinion that they have some kind of training where they become immune to everyday life and the ordinary peoples opinions and just line their own pockets. They have caused the problems we have today.

I, along with the rest of the working world can see very hard times ahead. I am considering changing the way I create and sell websites. At the moment, nobody wants to pay out for a website, it is an extra expense that may or may not pay for itself. I am going to do the following:

  1. Create your website before any payments are made - you only pay at the end
  2. I work from home, so I am going to keep the prices very low - there is nothing I can do about fixed costs of domain names and hosting etc.
  3. I will complete a working draft of your website in 48 hours.

With this in mind, you will need to prepare your photos, content, logos etc beforhand.  My aim will be to keep myself busy (web design is very slow at the moment), earn a little bit for each website and keep ticking over.

Interested in a website?  send me your requirements and as much info as you can and I can creat a draft quickly - Info needed;

  • What your site should do - aim of the site
  • Colour Scheme
  • Any similar site you like

Please consider carefully before enquiring about a site - I try and achieve what you want first time - everybody wins!!

Thanks for reading

Alan
